My casual look includes a great pair of khakis

This is it for January ladies and my quest for great looking loungewear is over.  Not that I've found the perfect set mind you, but to be honest, I'm tired of looking.  No worries though I will continue to be on the lookout and if I should find a great looking set you'll be the first to know.  In the meantime I've decided to change my idea of casual wear and go with a great pair of khakis instead of traditional lounge pants. Lots of great deals to be had at Ann Taylor LOFT

It isn't even spring yet and Ann Taylor LOFT is already marking down their early spring merchandise.  There's a ton of spring sweaters, dresses, shirts, and jackets to choose from.  All at seriously great prices.  I picked up a scoop neck sweater the other day at full price.  I'm going back for a price adjustment ASAP to save myself about $24.  How cool is that.

Same pants. Different look.

Yes, I'm sporting the same pants as before, but this time I've paired them with a couple of tees.  One has 3/4 length sleeves.  The other has short sleeves.  Paired together they are perfect for taking these pants right on into spring.  Plus I've added some fun red shoes to take the entire look up a notch.  Throw on a little denim jacket or super cute trench and you'll be good to go looking oh so fabulous.  (1 comment posted)

Late winter/early spring - the trick is to find pieces that work for both

The end of January is fast approaching.  Winter sales are wrapping up.  It's time to start thinking spring ladies.  From colorful sweaters to trench coats to fun shoes, there's lots of new stuff worth checking out at all your favorite stores.  The only the problem is most of it can't be worn for months.  One solution, finding pieces that can be worn now, with your wintery things, and later with more spring like stuff.  Take these pants I found at Gap the other day.  Super cute with a wide leg and navy stripes and oh so easy to pair with my tneck now and a tshirt later.  Love them.

A great sweater for a steal of a deal at Banana Republic

If you're still looking for some last minute winter sweaters, pants, scarves, hats and more you might want to check out Banana Republic online and especially in stores this weekend.  They just marked things down again for a savings of up to 70% off original prices.  I picked up the sweater I'm wearing today for just $14.99.  It was originally $58.  Very nice.  The selection of course is running low and some things seemed to be marked lower in stores than online.  But definitely check things out if you've got a minute.  You're sure to find some seriously good deals for you and your man.

Finding great looking loungewear is harder than I thought

I must admit this great fitting & looking loungewear/super casual wear search I'm on is proving to be much more difficult that I thought it would be.  Sure there are sweatpants galore out there, some nicer than others, but I what I really had in mind was something just a bit nicer.  Something with a nice drape, but not too loosey goosey either.  Something that keeps its shape but isn't too athletic looking.  My latest find is a pair of pants from a store called lucy.  They're nice, but really just a glorified pair of sweatpants with a bit of stretch. A long cardigan sweater on me - a do or a don't?

I'm constantly searching for a great cardigan that can be thrown on with tee, a button down, etc.  Something that looks great with khakis, jeans and more.  I finally found a really nice one at Gap.  The only problem is I'm not exactly sure about the length - it's long enough to cover my bum.  Don't get me wrong I love the look of a longer cardigan sweater.  So cute.  However, do they really work for those of us who are a bit vertically challenged?  You make the call. Great loungewear from Chico's - who would have thought

I took your advice ladies.  I stepped out my comfort zone and decided to check out the loungewear at Chico's.  And while I can't say that I was all that excited about the place.  I swear I was the youngest person in the store by about 20+ years.  I was pleasantly surprised by the super comfy, really nice feeling jacket and pants I found.  Thankfully my good friend Dina agreed to model the set for me.  Check it out for yourself.

For something new - look for pieces with a vintage feel

No worries ladies I'm still in search of the perfect loungewear, but I wanted to show you this fun red sweater I found the other day at Ann Taylor LOFT.  Since vintage looking pieces are oh so in right now I am always looking for shirts, sweaters, etc. that I can mix with my basics.  Nothing too crazy, just things with a little more detail, a little more fashion forward.  This sweater is just the ticket.  Plus right now it's on sale at LOFT for just $29.99.  How cool is that.

It's 2008! Let's update!

This is it ladies.  I'm cleaning out my closet and totally reevaluating my entire wardrobe needs.  I'm tired of having pieces here and there.  A few that go together.  A few that don't.  Some that are fashionable.  Some that are not.  So it's out with old, totally outdated pants, shirts and sweaters and in with much more stylish looking items that fit perfectly into my casual, everyday life.  And while I realize I can't buy everything I need at once, I am starting in January with some serious loungewear.  (1 comment posted)

Last minute cashmere for a good deal

If you're looking to pick up some last minute cashmere you should check out Ann Taylor.  Starting today, most of theirs cashmere sweaters are available for just $70.  Great deal for great fitting cashmere.  I went with the long sleeve vneck sweater.  And if you're looking for a vneck that you can wear alone with just the right amount of coverage, this is it.  Very nice.  Oh, and to spice the whole look up a bit I am adding my new pair of cobalt blue pumps.  Ooh la la. Add a little color to your look in '08.

Color is big for spring.  Bright pinks, blues and greens are showing up at all your favorite stores.  And throwing on something bright and fun is a great way to update your look.  Thankfully, you don't have to spend a fortune to do it.  One of my favorite tricks; pick up a fun colored tee to mix and match with your basics.  J.Crew always has a ton to choose from.  So do a lot of other stores.  I'm sporting a bright blue one today.  Very fun.
