A colorful sweater is perfect for now and later.

It seems once the new year hits I am ready to ditch all the chocolate browns, black, and reds in my closet and start wearing shirts, sweaters, and even shoes with a bit more color.  It's silly I know, but it makes me feel like spring is just around the corner.  And after a long November and December full of snow and cold every lit bit helps.  One of my favorite places to pick up some color is J.Crew.  But you can find it anywhere these days and since bright, bold colors are big for spring you can get something you can wear now and later.

A fun party dress for the holidays

If you're in need of something a bit dressier for the holidays you're in luck.  There are still plenty of really great dresses out there to choose from.  Isaac Mizrahi for Target has a great selection of super cute dresses at oh so affordable prices including this Handkerchief Back Dress which was featured in the December issue of Real Simple.  Ooh la la.  For a bit more money, Banana Republic has a nice selection as well including this little strapless number I just love. Finding the right pair of shoes can be tricky

I'm off to a little holiday party at my girlfriend's house tonight.  Nothing major.  Just a bit of merry making with some dear friends.  I picked up a little wool skirt from J.Crew and paired it with a tneck from Banana Republic.  I've added some tights for warmth and now I'm good to go.  Well almost.  I still can't decide which shoes to wear.  Since my skirt is short I don't want anything too high.  Boots were my first choice, but all the J.Crew models seems to sporting these short little numbers with a pair of flats.  Any ideas ladies?   (3 comments posted)

A great looking sweater from Banana Republic

A girl can never have enough snugly sweaters in her lineup for December and January and a great fitting, oh so stylish chunky tneck is just the ticket.  I found a super cute one at Banana Republic.  It comes in a ton of different colors and has six-button cuffs that give it a little extra zip.  Not to mention it is going to keep me oh so warm all winter long.  Plus if you order online you can use code BRHOLIDAY and save 20%.  How cool is that!

Found: a great fitting vneck sweater

I'm always in search of a great fitting vneck sweater.  It can't be too heavy, but not too thin either.  Length is important too as I would like to be able to wear it tucked in or out.  But most important is the depth of the vneck.  Nothing too deep please.  I want to be able to wear it alone as well as layered over a pretty blouse.  I found a great one at J.Crew.  I ordered it on a whim the other day and I was just delighted when I got it and tried it on.  Great fit all around.

Something red is always great for the holidays

I ran into my local Banana Republic store the other day in hopes of finding something to wear for Christmas Eve.  Thankfully our dress code is nothing major, no party dresses required.  A pair of nice wool pants and a fun top is usually just the ticket.  Though if you are in the market for a fun dress, Banana has a great selection including this sequin number.  Very fun and very in right now.  I settled on a little red button down shirt.  I think...    (3 comments posted)

A sparkle tee is a great way to snazz up my everyday

I always enjoy a fun little sparkle tee for the holidays.  You can dress it up with a great pair of trousers, a snazzy belt and heels or down with a pair of jeans.  Wear it as is or throw it on under a cardigan or layered over a button down shirt, which I am doing today.  J.Crew always has a great selection this time of year, but you find them just about anywhere really.   They are oh so fun and an easy, breezy way to put a little zip into your everyday look.
